Brian Magwood, Connectional Young Adult Ministry (CYAM)

Brian L. Magwood, the younger of two children, was born October 20, 1975 in Savannah, Georgia, to the late Horace Magwood, Jr. and Barbara G. Magwood.

Brian was baptized as an infant at St. Paul CME Church by Rev. Nathaniel Smith.  As a youth, he was an active member of the Christian Youth Fellowship, served as Youth Usher Board President and Junior Sunday School Superintendent. Brian continued to grow in the Lord, working as a servant to the Kingdom as he entered into his young adult years, singing in the Youth and Young Adult Choir, serving as President of the St. Paul CME Young Adult Council, President of the Central Georgia Region Young Adult Council, and as an Episcopal District Young Adult Representative. To date, he continues to serve as the Young Adult President of the Atlanta-Rome District and also serves as the Chairman of the Steward Board at Good News Community CME Church.  On the Episcopal District, he has served as a delegate to the General Connectional Board and served twice as a Delegate to General Conference.

Brian was educated in the public schools of Savannah and graduated from Windsor Forest High School, Class of 1993. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering from Savannah State University and Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.  He began his professional career teaching math at Jenkins High School in Savannah, Georgia. He left the teaching profession and started a career in administration. He is currently employed with Emerson Electric, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, as a Senior Marketing Manager.

On September 27, 2003 he was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Jennifer Holly Davis. To this union they were blessed to become the proud parents of Brian, Jr.  His fraternal and social memberships include: the Mu Phi Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., the One Hundred Black Men of Savannah and the Coastal Football Officials Association.

Brian is a humble servant that loves the Lord and the CME Church. He is a strong example Christian Manhood and Servitude. As President, he brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and service to the Connectional Young Adult Ministry and truly is a man after God’s own heart.
